Whistling is such a magical sound, don’t you think?

I was sitting in my van in the school parking lot, when a Christmas song began to play.

During the sentimental song, Bing Crosby (perhaps one of my favorite singers of all time), was whistling.

It was such a simple, beautiful, and joyful sound.

It made me smile, and feel childlike, even though I was the grown-up mom, driving my child to school.

I felt nostalgic for a time and a place, that existed before I was even born.

It made me cry with longing for a sweeter time.

It also made me wonder… why don’t people whistle anymore?

Where has all the joyful, playful, whistling gone in our “music” of these days?

With all of the changes going on in our country… I have a request.

I believe that America — and the Whole World — needs to whistle while they work again.
