Goodbye, Autumn.

Autumn in Washington is AWESOME.

This year seemed to be especially beautiful.

The colors were very vivid, and crisp, and the air was warm and invigorating.

We took a little trip with my parents over to Camano Island, on the other side of the state. We got to enjoy the ocean, and the beauty of a very different kind of place.

Spokane is beautiful, but there is something other-worldly about the far west side of the state, where the ocean makes everything a little more… mysterious? (It is probably the fog-effect… moody and slightly spooky.)

It was a very pleasant trip to the ocean. The mountain pass took my breath away with the colors and beauty.

We listened to The Lord of the Rings soundtrack while driving through the mountains, fog, and fall colors, and it was spectacular. The Elves definitely could live in those woods.

It is almost time for The Lord of the Rings movie marathon! Woohoo!

I love Autumn.

I love pumpkins.

I love Legolas.

I loved the lingering warmth in the air.

But that is gone now.

It is cold.

Winter is coming.

We had our first snow already, and we have turned on the furnace.

Tomorrow is Halloween…

And then…

THEN….

Comes the REALLY GOOD stuff!

I cannot wait to replace the skeletons and pumpkins with Nativities, and Christmas trees!

Goodbye Autumn in Washington…

Thank you for being glorious.
